3 Days, 2 Nights: Mahamid Elghizlane, Erg Chigaga, Lake Iriki, Foum Zguid, or back to Mahamid Elghizlane.

This trip will take you to the deep Sahara. It runs from Mahamid Elghizlane to Chegaga. You will enjoy the view of Morocco’s biggest dunes. You will also explore Lake Iriki’s vast Sahara, a nomadic school, and Bedouin life. You can return to Mahamid Elghizlane or continue to Foum Zguid to see different scenery. If you have a car in Mahamid Elghizlane and want to end your tour there, we can drive your car to Foum Zguid. Let us know in advance, and we will arrange it for you.

Day 01 :

Departure from M'hamid El Ghizlane

Your journey begins in M'hamid Elghizlane, a desert town at the edge of the Sahara. You'll meet your local guides and set out in a 4x4 vehicle. Drive through desert landscapes.

As you leave M'hamid, you'll take a scenic drive through the desert. You'll pass through dry landscapes, small oases, and dunes. Visit local nomads' tents. You might visit some nomads' tents and talk to local Berber communities along the way.

You can learn about their traditions and way of life. Lunch in the Desert: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch. It's going to be a traditional Moroccan lunch at a good desert spot. They'll serve the famous tagine and mint tea. Or you can also start a bit later to have lunch in M'hamid Elghizlane. Camel Trek: In the afternoon, you'll transfer to camels for an iconic desert experience.

Your guides will lead you on a camel trek through the dunes. It will allow you to appreciate the calm desert. Arrival at Erg Chegaga. Discover it. It is a destination known for its vast dunes. As the sun begins to set, you'll have the opportunity to climb the dunes to witness a breathtaking sunset. Dinner and camp: settle into a desert camp.

The camp is often in traditional Berber-style tents. Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared by your hosts. Afterwards, gather around the campfire for music, storytelling, and stargazing.

Day 02 :

Erg Chegaga to Lake Iriki

Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes. Enjoy a traditional Berber breakfast. Then we will hit the road to visit the nomadic school and cross the dry lake Iriki. We'll visit the old Kser of Zawia and the old marabou.

Then we'll go to the biggest dunes in the Lake Iriki Sahara to spend the night at Bivouac Les Nomades.

Day 03 :

back to Mhamid Elghizlane or continue to Foum Zguid

The next morning, after breakfast at Lake Iriki, we can continue to Foum Zguid to see the new scenery. If you have a car, we can arrange for a driver to take it to Foum Zguid. Or, you can return to M'hamid Elghizlane. Return to M'hamid.

We have two options. We can return to Mahamid Elghizlane, the place where you likely left your car. Or, we can continue to Foum Zguid. If you left your car in Mahamid Elghizlane, no worries. We can pick it up and take it to Foum Zguid. So when you arrive in Foum Zguid, you will find your car already in Foum Zguid.
